Our Bigboss bus

Our bus is a 1985 Nissan Ud which has a 6 cyl turbo diesel with a standard 6 speed box.I Brought this bus off E-bay in 2009 and over a 2 year period I did my own home built motorhome conversion which is now fully engineered & registered it seats 6 and sleeps 6 with queen bed at rear set of bunk beds and a 3 seater sofa bed/lounge.Also has a full size kitchen separate toilet & shower 220Lt fresh water tank & 125 Lt grey water tank & 2 x9kg gas bottles Kitchen contains 4 burner cook top and smev grill and a washing machine beside 3 seater sofa lounge.Over all motor-home is very self contained and easy to drive at only 30 foot long.We do have plans to buy a small tow car later on

The Electrics

My bus is 24volt & also has a 12v alternator fitted to motor which charges my 3x220amp gel batteries Also have 320watt solar panels @ 12v to keep my batteries charged.There is a 40amp smart charger while 240 is available-Fridge is 12v-240v.Gas/electric hot-water service & 2x 12v TVs 1 is in lounge-room the other is in rear bedroom.Bus has a webasto diesel heater & also a split heating and cooling air conditioner fitted to roof.There is two power inverters 1 pure sine wave & 1 modified and currently I have no generator as I have had no need so far and if the time comes i will buy a Honda generator

On the Disability pension since 2006 due to a fall and just about to travel around Australia full time with my 10 year old son with a starting date of 28/12/2011. We have been living in this bus full time for over a year
